Elaine Halpin - Manager

Elaine comes from Oldcastle, Co. Meath and joined the Cavan-Monaghan Rural Development Co-op Society Ltd in March, 1993 for the LEADER I Programme.

She has been with the Co-op through LEADER I and LEADER II and is looking forward to the challenges of the new National Rural Development Programme (LEADER).

Noelle Mooney- Administrator

Noelle joined the LEADER team in December 2000, and is responsible for day to day accounts, recording of Board minutes, involved in the processing of grant applications, and general administration in the office.

Peter Pollock- Development Officer

Peter has a diploma in rural development from NUI Maynooth and brings to the position a wealth of experience in the field of craft development, having worked in this sector for more than twenty years including time spent with Cavan Crystal. Peter’s role involves implementation of a development programme of activity with craft producers in both counties. This includes the arranging of locally based information and training sessions, the provision of mentoring support and participation at leading national trade fairs as well as liaising with other agencies to increase opportunities for local craft producers. Peter is the coordinator for the LEADER Craft Village held annually at the National Ploughing Championships and is a current board member of the Craft Council of Ireland.

John Toland- Development Officer

John has been employed by Cavan Monaghan Rural Development since 1999. He holds a primary degree in Hotel Business Management and is a graduate of National University of Ireland Cork with an MSc. The main role of the tourism officer was the delivery of the Tourism without Borders’ training initiative and the administration of the Agri – Rural Tourism measure of the LEADER NRDP. John is responsible for the development of www.talktourism.ie and in 2007 he was elected as Chairperson of Rural Tourism International Training Network.

David Stafford – Rural Social Scheme Development Officer
David Stafford is the Rural Social Scheme Development Officer for counties Cavan and Monaghan. He assumed this position with Cavan Monaghan Rural Development in September 2004 for the planning and implementation of the scheme in both counties. David has a background in English, History and Development Studies and has significant experience in working with farmers and community groups from a range of backgrounds.

Marianne McEneaney – Development Officer

Marianne who comes from Carrickmacross in Co Monaghan started work with Cavan-Monaghan Rural Development Co-op Ltd in 2005. Marianne studied Sociology and Economics in UCD and has a higher diploma in Public Relations from the Fitzwilliam Institute and recently completed a Diploma in Community Development Practice with the Rural College in Draperstown in association with NUI Galway. Marianne previously worked in the marketing and P.R. field has a history of involvement with voluntary groups in her locality.

Grainne Curran – Clerical Officer

Grainne joined Cavan Monaghan Rural Development Co-op in 2006. She has an extensive working knowledge of tourism having worked with Fáilte Ireland prior to joining Cavan Monaghan Rural Development Co-op. She graduated from University of Ulster at Coleraine with a degree in Social Administration. Her role is to support the Tourism Development Officer in delivering the “Tourism without Borders” Initiative.
