CLAR
The CLÁR Programme is about targeted investment in rural areas which have experienced on average a 35% decline in population between 1926 and 2002.
This covers most of Cavan and Monaghan outside the main urban centres. CLAR Programmes include:
If you wish to upgrade to Three Phase Electricity you may be eligible for CLAR Financial Assistance.
Under this measure, CLÁR finances the cost of the customer contribution to the ESB for conversion from single to three phase electricity.
This measure applies to CLÁR areas only, and any assistance received is subject to certain terms and conditions.
Who is eligible?
1. New start-up business or enterprises
2. Existing small businesses or enterprises
3. Sports clubs wishing who wish to install 3 phase to power floodlights
4. Community groups wishing to install three phase electricity to power their kitchens
CLAR Bi-lingual Signage Schemes
CLAR and Foras na Gaeilge fund a Bilingual Signage Scheme with an emphasis on public signs funded being bilingual, with Irish being on an equal footing with English.
1. Village Signage; Community. 2 way equal funding split between CLAR and Foras na Gaeilge subject to a maximum of €4,000 per village.
2. Village Signage; Private. 3 way equal funding split between CLAR, Foras na Gaeilge and the private individuals involved - subject to a maximum of €1,000 each for CLAR and Foras na Gaeilge.
