Pictured above are participants who took part in an Energy Auditing Training course organised by Cavan Monaghan Rural Development in Belturbet Railway Station.

Cavan Monaghan Rural Development ran two, one day energy auditing training courses in Belturbet Railway Station and the Farney Workhouse, Carrickmacross on Friday 24th and Saturday 25th November last. The training course in Belturbet was designed to equip small businesses to audit their premises and to make informed decisions. The training course which ran on Saturday 25th November in the workhouse in Carrickmacross was designed to enable community groups and those running community facilities to audit their premises for energy usage. Des Murphy from Kovara Energy Consultants who has many years of experience in various aspects of energy, delivered the training course in a very practical manner.

Both courses were very well attended reflecting the growing interest in the alternative types of energy and energy conservation. Feedback from both courses was very positive with one participant stating “this course definitely wasn’t a waste of energy”.
