Cavan Christmas Craft Fair 2007

Sixty eight craft workers from the region and also throughout Ireland took part in this year’s Cavan Pre Christmas Craft Fair in the Hotel Kilmore Cavan on Sunday 11th November 2007.
The event which is organised by Cavan Monaghan Art and Craft Network has continued to grow and develop and is now recognised as one of the leading one day craft fairs held annually in Ireland.
Over four thousand customers attended the event this year and took the opportunity to indulge in some Christmas shopping for a wide range of quality craft work including; jewellery, textiles, wood, greeting cards and much more.

Craft Trail

A craft Trail containing contact details, location etc for many of the craft producers in the region was launched on May 3rd 2006. The craft trail will be distributed widely in the area at tourist attractions, hotels, visitor centres etc.

LEADER Craft Village at National Ploughing Championships

Five craft workers from the region took part in the LEADER Craft Village at this year’s National Ploughing Championships which were held in Tullamore, Co. Offaly during September.

National Craft & Design Fair 2007

Eight Craft Workers from Cavan and Monaghan will take part their places on the Cavan Monaghan Craft stand at this year’s National Crafts & Design Fair which will be held in the RDS Dublin from 5th to 9th December 07.
The National Craft Fair is the largest craft event held annually in Ireland and will feature over five hundred craft and food producers from throughout Ireland.
This is the fifth year that Cavan Monaghan Crafts will have a presence at this event. Selection for inclusion in the stand is on a rotating basis.
This event is supported each year by the Enterprise Boards in both Counties Cavan and Monaghan.

Capital supports for craft enterprises.

The Craft Development Project provides capital support to many developing craft enterprises in the region. This funding is channelled through the LEADER programme. All funding has now been allocated under the current programme; however a new Rural Development Programme 2007 – 2013 is expected to commence in the Spring of 2008 when further grant aid will be made available.
