Waste metals disposal

felic_gormley.jpgCavan-Monaghan Rural Development has supported a number of environmental projects in the past year.

One example is that of Felix Gormley who bases his operations at Crossdoney outside Cavan town. Mr. Gormley has run a scrap metals disposal business for a number of years in the area. The business received a capital grant from LEADER for the purchase of a scrap metals crusher for compacting cars, vans and other forms of scrap metal. This piece of equipment has proved invaluable to his existing business, enabling safer, more efficient transport of materials.

Capacity to dispose of larger volumes of waste has also increased substantially. With the relatively recent introduction of the NCT combined with a high participation level in the REPS scheme, the need for a service such as this is greater than ever.
